Hagi glass is created during Bakumatsu (late Tokugawa Shogunate) by a scientist from Nagato-han named Nakayama Jihei. It is now finally restored over 145 years period. The Hagi-glass now is a type of hard glass made of Genbu-gun stone and heated up over 1,500°C.
