Hirano Hakuho (1879-1957)
Hirano Hakuho was from Kyoto where he had studied classical Japanese painting and printmaking as well as modern Western style painting. His major activity was in painting, not printmaking. But, there were best known two bijin prints "Before the Mirror" and "After the Bath". They are appreciated by collectors as being among the finest of Shin Hanga prints. The artist was even represented in the famous print exhibition in Toledo/USA of 1936.
