Aizu is an area comprising the westernmost third of Fukushima Prefecture in Japan. The principal city of the area is Aizu-Wakamatsu. During the Edo-era, Aizu was a feudal domain known as Aizu clan (Aizu-han) and part of Mutsu Province.
